Introduction: Frederick Douglass was born a slave. He Escaped from slavery at the age of 21. He became a great speaker and abolitionist. In his speeches, he described the horrors of slavery. He founded his own newspaper, “The North Star”. During the Civil War, Douglass recruited blacks for the union army, and from 1889 to 1891 he served as the U.S. Ambassador to Haiti.
Introduction: When Franklin Roosevelt was elected the United States was in the middle of the worst economic crisis it had ever faced, the great depressions. Banks closed, people lost their homes and unemployment was at record high. President Roosevelt began a series of reforms called the new deal. These reforms were created in order to prevent the great depression from ever happening again.
